Welcome Back!
This is a favorite time of year for me. The planning for the next year has come to an end and there is excitement as students return to school. It is always interesting to see the growth of kids at this age in one summer. There will be new students to meet and the Pomolita experienced kids are ready to get back into action with a new enthusiasm and confidence. Much alike students, there are new staff members to meet and experienced staff are eager to get back to school. It’s a great time of year!
Our school will look a little different. We have a new paint job with updated colors, we have new classroom desks and tables throughout the school and we will soon have new landscaping in the quad area. But the Pomolita drive for excellence continues to be the same. Our pillars that we desire in our students continue; Wellness, Empathy, Respect, Organization, Attitude and Responsibility – WE ROAR. I feel we have the best kids in the district! We definitely have great teachers ready to help our students reach new heights and abilities.
This year Ukiah Unified qualified for a program to feed all students for free. But all families MUST fill out the Education Benefit Form. This is a terrific program for our community. Pomolita has consistently had about 75% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch program. Now anyone who wants to eat can eat. Please fill out the form which will be sent home as part of a packet sent from Pomolita.
We will be mailing out our packets to each student which will include information and schedules. Please sign all documents and return them on orientation day (Aug. 16th)or the first day of school. Here are a few important dates and times to remember.

Orientation – Thursday, August 16th at 12:00-1:00PM – parents and students

Esta es una época favorita del año para mí. La planificación para el próximo año ha llegado a su fin y hay emoción cuando los estudiantes regresan a la escuela. Siempre es interesante ver el crecimiento de los niños a esta edad en un verano. Habrá nuevos estudiantes para conocer y los niños con experiencia en Pomolita están listos para volver a la acción con un nuevo entusiasmo y confianza. Muy parecidos a los estudiantes, hay nuevos miembros del personal para reunirse y el personal con experiencia está ansioso por volver a la escuela. ¡Es una gran época del año!
Nuestra escuela se verá un poco diferente. Tenemos un nuevo trabajo de pintura con colores actualizados, tenemos nuevos escritorios y mesas en toda la escuela y pronto tendremos nuevos jardines en el área del patio. Pero el impulso por la excelencia de Pomolita sigue siendo el mismo. Nuestros pilares que deseamos en nuestros estudiantes continúan; Bienestar, Empatía, Respeto, Organización, Actitud y Responsabilidad - WE ROAR. ¡Siento que tenemos los mejores niños en el distrito! Definitivamente tenemos excelentes maestros listos para ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a alcanzar nuevas alturas y habilidades.
Este año Ukiah Unified calificó para un programa para alimentar a todos los estudiantes de forma gratuita. Pero todas las familias DEBEN completar el Formulario de Beneficios de Educación. Este es un excelente programa para nuestra comunidad. Pomolita ha tenido aproximadamente el 75% de los estudiantes calificados para el programa de almuerzos gratis oa precio reducido. Ahora cualquiera que quiera comer puede comer. Por favor complete el formulario que será enviado a casa como parte de un paquete enviado por Pomolita.
