School Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays: 8:30-3:30, Wednesdays 8:30-1:55

Aeries Parent Portal- As of 9/19/19, only 74% of parents have confirmed their students’ data on the Aeries Parent Portal. It is very important that 100% of parents create a portal and confirm their students’ data so that we have current contact information in case of an emergency and to ensure that you get your mail sent to the correct address.

-If you have not created a Parent Portal Account, please do so as soon as possible, as there are very important documents that need your authorization and we want to make sure all your contact information is up to date.
-Your student’s Chromebook will remain blocked from most sites until the Parent Portal is created and all data has been confirmed.
-If you need help creating your Parent Portal, please call Andrea Perez, our Family/Community Liaison, at 707-472-5357 or stop by the office.

The Cookie Dough Fundraiser will begin on October 9th. This is the first major fundraiser for the whole student body. Money raised will be used for Dances, Rallies, REC Nights, Movie Nights, and other events that include the entire student body.

Associated Student Body (ASB) Elections will begin on October 8th. Students who would like to run for ASB President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will be able to receive an application that is due on October 11th. Approved students will write a speech that will appear on the student announcements October 22nd-25th where students can vote for their representation. Winners will be announced on October 25th at the end of the day.

The Spanish Club meets on Wednesdays during lunch in room 123.

ELA Book Drive- The English Language Arts department is having a book drive to create a mobile library for Pomolita students to borrow books from or to keep. The donation box is located in the main office and we will accept books in both English and Spanish.

ELA Updates- 8th grade ELA students have been reading Frankenstein online and creating projects. Ask them to tell you about their version as a comic strip or story. Next, we'll be learning about argumentation and participating in debates!
The Pomolita Writing Club meets Thursdays at lunch in Ms. Robinson's room 126. We are preparing for the National Novel Writing Month's Youth Writing Program (NaNoWriMoYWP) in November. This is a nation-wide campaign to create our own writing goals, document our word counts, and support each other. We plan to meet at Black Oak Coffeehouse to write and enjoy snacks on Monday, November 12th.

Yearbooks- The 2019-2020 Pomolita yearbook can be purchased for $25 from the office or in room 101 of the SEM. You can also order your yearbook online at jostensyearbooks.com.

Community Activities- Please follow the link below for information on youth sports teams available through the City of Ukiah.

Please take a moment to go over your student’s grades and talk to your student about any concerns he/she might have. If your student feels like he/she is falling behind and would like any extra support from the school, ASES is always an option and we have many teachers who stay after school and tutor on certain days of the week. If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s grades, please feel free to call our counselors.
